Now understanding the tug-of war over land between the Gujarat government and Creative Infocity Ltd. Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has asquired yet another floor spread over 38,000 sqfeet in Infocity, Gandhinagar as part of its expension plans.
TCS has leased the fourth floor in IT Tower 1 form Ahmedabad based frontline Corporation Frontline menaging director Pawan Kumar Agarwal said the company had given the force to TCS on a five year lease Frontline lead recently acquired the space for Rs 9 corer, he said.
TCS officials refused to comment on the issue the IT major also has some 30 access of land in Infocity which it still has to develop. “TCS already has offices on the fifth and sixth floors and the additional space will seat 500 to 600 people” said executive director, Creative Infocity Ltd. Hitendra Barot.
He said Frontline leased the space to TCS after its plans to foray into IT business had to be shelved “Frontline was In talks with a US firm to start its IT business but the plans fell through, Creative Infocity Ltd and the Gujarat government are in the process of ironing out a dispute over land.
The government has alleged that Infocity has breached the contract signed the contract signed in 1999 by exceeding the amount of land that could be given for commercial purposes which the company denies.
Space out
TCS has leased the fourth floor in IT Tower I form Ahmedabad based Frontline Corporation. The IT major also has some 20 acres of land in infocity.
Creative Infocity Ltd and the state govt are in the process of ironing out a dispute over land.
