AFTER Banglore, Gurgaon, Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata and Pune it’s now Ahmedabad’s turn to get hooked to the latest buzz in the outsourcing services business. The sate capita Gandhinagar some 25 km from Ahmedabad is now catching up with other cities by switching over to the latest phenomenon in outsourcing business. In what could establish the city as a serious player in the category. IT/ITeS hub Infocity (Gandhinagar) is preparing to host at least five BTO companies from the US and UK.

“As there is slowdown companies are not only outsourcing their products, but also monitoring, managing and providing operational inputs to its outsourcing partners. BTO goes beyond traditional outsourcing to combine best practices and industry expertise with the flexibility to overcome the current downturn,” says Infocity director and chief technical officer (CTO) Snehal Desai.

“Developers of Infocity are in talks with five companies in US and UK for setting up their BTOs in Infocity by this financial year” he added.

The BTO market in India is expected to be around $600 billion and is expected to increase to 31% by this year, as per industry body ASSOCHAM.

FOR third generation outsourcing, Bangalore and Gurgaon are ranked 1st and 2nd, followed by Delhi and Chennai. Mumbai stands 5th while Kolkata and Pune are placed at 6th and 7th respectively.
